Wrapping up the summer of 2014

It finally seems like that after a summer of crappy weather that the last half of August is SUMMER.  Hot sunny days and damn do we ever need it.
The grapes are benefiting from this blast of summer and it actually feels good to get some hot sunshine on your skin.
Karen arrived home from Mexico.  She did have a bit of an accident.  She fell down a flight of stairs and “claims” that she wasn’t drinking.  Turns out she may have fractured a rib.  Now that is painful.  It really hurts her if she sneezes.  So now she has about a 3 to 4 week recovery period.

Well her trip was fun.  It was a conference and she took her friend Kim with her.

She looks pretty damn good with a broken rib eh?

Kayaking on the Grand River

Last Friday night we went to the trailer with Sirena.  This is Christmas in the park this weekend.  We got there pretty late and just relaxed.

Saturday I got up early and went kayaking on the Grand River.  I am really enjoying this kayaking stuff.

When I got back to the trailer our friends Jamie and Anie and their kids were there.  They came to spend the day and enjoy the Christmas fun.  It was a good day with friends and the kids all had a blast.

Dustin and Leeann showed up later to get Sirena and stayed for supper.

Karen and I had to get up really early to go to a Travel Only Top Producers meeting the next day.  This meeting was held at the Mimico Yacht Club and hosted by one of the top producers at Travel Only Pat Probert.  The meetings were good and also fun.  Pat makes sure everyone was having fun.  He is a very funny man.  After the meetings we went to Pat’s home and had dinner and drinks and a lot of laughs.  It was all a good time.

Labour day I really didn’t do much.  Karen and I went out to look at the progress of Dustin and Leeann’s new home (renovation revelation), stopped in at a few antique shops and went out on a lunch date.

The new school year started yesterday (Happy New Year) and we are ready for the new crop of students.  Hopefully this later summer weather continues.
