Played in the Mayor's Golf Tournament last week. I played with Jeff Hudertmark, Eric Peacock and Austin Riordon. Thank god it was a best ball tournament because I played awful. Actually Eric and Austin kept us afloat. We drank beer, cider and wine during the tournament and none of us won any prizes except for Austin; he won closest to the pin on one of the par threes.
Had a very uneventful week at work which led up to a very jammed packed weekend.
Karen, Sirena and I went up to the trailer late on Friday evening. Sirena was very excited (as was Dustin who had a weekend off from her).
We got up early on Saturday and went grocery shopping, LCBO (how do you like the new logo) and giant tiger (to purchase pj's for Sirena because Dustin forgot to pack any).
That afternoon we went to my cousin Joan's house for a small picnic. Auntie was there and she really is getting up there in age. Sharp as a tack for a woman of 91 though. Aunt Betty was there as well and Nancy, Ron, Jill, Chris, Joan, Jim, John, Diane, Peter, Margaret and their kids, Carol and anyone else I missed.
It felt a bit weird leaving. Aunti Doris is so old, you wonder if that is the last time you will see her.
We rushed back to the trailer because we are expecting company and Halloween. Sunwing Rod and his lovely wife and kids came over to participate in Halloween and have dinner with us. It was a really nice evening.
The next day Dustin came up to get Sirena and Hugh and Sherri came for the evening and over night. Damn we had some fun old laughs with Hugh and Sherri. It was good to see them. Next morning they bought us breakfast at the restaurant.
This morning I got ready for work and went to leave and the damn SUV wouldn't start. New alternator required. I still haven't found out what that is costing yet.
We have had a lot of rain this summer and today it has rained most of the day. The rain has been good for the hops that we planted but not good for the grapes. WE NEED SOME SUN AND HEAT NOW.
